Cushions, anyone?

I've just finished my first block of screen printing for my florals project (photos to come soon!) But here is a little preview of a 'falling floral' pattern inspired by my research. I used pigment pastes on a heavy cotton drill fabric, and I'm pretty happy with it. I would like to re-print in some different colourways so i'm saving the kodatrace for when i get some free time..As this is my interior project, i've wrapped the cotton around a pillow to test out some cushion ideas!

Colours!

Started yesterday adding lots of colour..I can't say i like using it that much (yet) i'm still way too obsessed with drawing and fineliners. I did these few though and i'm happy with them. I forced myself to create the patterned piece without any black, which was hard-going seeing as i put black in everything! Maybe pink is my new black? I'm thinking of using the bottom design as a repeat for the coming project.

friday florals..

Hello snow, hello winter! Since its now getting freezing outside, i've been wrapping up in a tonne of layers, drinking huge cups of tea and hot chocolate in Costa and somehow losing gloves/hats/scarves on the walk to the studio. With a little bit of work inbetween :) Looking at my summer floral photos is making me miss the sun, but they're doing a good job of keeping me inspired and brightening up my days! I love looking at my little photo collage and i've now got even more gorgeous-ness to keep me happy- the lovely flowers i was given yesterday! Happy, happy :)

Drawing, Drawing, Drawing..

I've got abit of an obsession with fineliners at the minute, so these are my first few floral drawings...theyre all repeated with lots of little detail, and very 'me.' :) next step..colour!
I've had lots of fun snapping photos everywhere, from Kew Gardens to mum's garden, so i've got lots to work from :) and lots to do! Fun fun..

My First Post :)

Hello! So here i am posting my first entry on my new pretty print blog! I'm at Uni in my final year of a Printed Textiles degree, and loving every minute. In between drawing, printing and getting messy i've decided to keep myself busy with my blog. I'll be uploading pretty much everything, a big mix of some work, some prints, drawings and things that make me happy. I've got my little studio space all set up (above!) with a few drawings from my new project, with more to come! I hope you enjoy :)
